"Musical Interludes" Concert Series
Langeland House is pleased to offer
a series of house concerts featuring folk and classical performances during the off-season (October through April).

Check this site later this summer for the
2008-2009 list of concert dates and performers.

Secret's out about Langeland concerts
(Letter to the Editor, Muskegon Chronicle, 2/1/2006)

I am really going to expose my unselfish nature (a rare occurrence, some would say). Part of me wants to tell no one of the wonderful concerts that are going on at Langeland House Bed and Breakfast. The intimate setting only has limited spacing and by sharing my thoughts on this outstanding venue I am jeopardizing my chances of finding a seat. I'll just have to make sure to call ahead to make reservations.

Saturday's recent concert was attended by about 20 folks of all ages. We were enthralled by the music of Max and Ruth Bloomquist (her voice is an absolute gift) and entertained by the banter between the performers and the audience. Ruth writes most of the songs she performs but she threw in a few others and responded to several requests. The writer especially appreciated her performance of "Crazy."

At the intermission we were offered homemade cookies, coffee and hot cider. This also provided us the opportunity to tour this beautifully renovated B&B and see the loving care the owner, Elizabeth Sherman, has provided. All of this for $10 per person.

Elizabeth has plans to continue this kind of format in the future and I'm telling you there is no other setting like this that I have found. So watch for the announcements or contact the Langeland House for the next concert dates. Just don't tell too many people.

Long live, live music!
